Welcome to Steve's Place in Fort Erie, Ontario. We are located at 181 Niagara Blvd., across the street from the Niagara River. We are on the bike pathway that starts in Fort Erie
along a scenic route to Niagara Falls and eventually to Niagara-on-the-Lake. If you have
never ridden on this trail you're missing one of the most beautiful trails in Southern Ontario.
One of our specialties is bike repairs. It takes an expert nowadays to get a bike running to its fullest potential.
At Steve's Place, we do hundreds of tune-ups every year and we guarantee our work. Our tune-up rate for the year
2008 is $29.00 which includes, adjusting brakes, gears, bottom bracket, headset, wheel
cones, inspect cables, lube chain and touch up wheels.
The bicycle wheel is the most crucial component on your bike. If your wheels are not properly trued, it
will cause your wheels to be weak and they can be prone to bending. Truing a wheel also involves centering it. If your car pulls to the left or right, you take it to the garage to have an alignment
done so it will steer straight. With your bike wheels, if they are not centered (or aligned) your bike may also pull to the left or right. It can also affect the performance of your braking system.
Spoke tension also is a big part of truing a wheel. If the spokes are too loose, the wheel becomes weak and can lose its centering or you may notice your rim rubbing your brakes in different places
on the wheel. If your spokes are too tight it could cause damage to your hub and rim, and/or spokes could start breaking especially under load or on impact. Every wheel we true we make sure they are
centered, have proper tension and are straight.
Most of us have gone to a bike shop to buy a bike in the
past and got home with it, only to discover that it's
uncomfortable and not much fun to ride. The result of
this is the bike sits in the garage for the next 10
years until we have that traditional garage sale and
pass on our misery to someone else. There are many
things to consider when buying a bike in today's market.
Depending on the type of riding you're going to do will
determine the type of bike you will need. Once you know what
kind of bike you need, getting the right size of frame
is next. At this point you may think you're ready to go
but there is a lot more we can do for you to customize your new bike, to make it the most comfortable bike you've
ever bought. We pride ourselves in taking time with you
to make sure you are happy with your new bike.
At Steve's Place we have a wide selection of bikes,
with two showrooms packed with every kind of bike you
can think of. For the adult, we have mountain, hybrid, Road, cruiser, and streamline bikes. For the kids our
Bmx selection
is one of the biggest around. BMX is very popular
in this area and kids come here from all over the region
because of the selection and the prices we have.
